Not that it entirely matters, but this is how I got to where I am. Anything is possible if you dream big enough and work hard enough. xoxo.
I grew up in Stirling, NJ with my parents and four younger siblings. We attended St. Vincent de Paul School which was just two blocks from home. I went on to attend Watching Hills Regional High School where I played Field Hockey, ran Track, and kept Lacrosse Stats. My favorite classes were Spanish with Señor Cruz, Fashion Design, Foods, World Cultures with Ms. Sok, and Dance with Ms. Impalli.
I then attended Manhattan College in the Bronx for my undergrad. The close- knit nature of the Education Department and the dedication of my professors has made visiting campus like going home again. My Shakespeare and Psychology classes were also awesome because of the excellent conversation the material would welcome. Br. Ray’s class also stands out because of the sense of community he fostered in his classroom. My collegiate academic career was highlighted by the performing arts at the school and with PiPE DREAM Theater. My favorite shows include PiPEDREAM’s off- Broadway Production of 3 Ghosts in 2011 and Manhattan College Player’s production of Once on This Island. In 2012, I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Special Education with a concentration in English and Psychology.
After graduation, I taught in my former Fifth Grade Classroom alongside some of my former teachers and my mom. I so enjoyed infusing technology and the performing arts into my Spanish, Language Arts, and Literature Classes. I was also the Adviser of the Yearbook club, the Basic Skills Coordinator, and the ENSPiRiTED Program teacher at the school. I taught at SVdP for four years until the school closed its doors.
I seized the opportunity to live out a dream of mine and moved to the Jersey Shore to pursue a career in the creative arts. I managed the office at a dance academy and taught theater classes for my cousin’s company, ENSPiRiTED Projects. I put time into developing my brand, writing for my blog, and creating bracelets. I also continued to tutor.
During this time, my mom passed away suddenly. When my lease was up, I decided to move back home. While it was not the ideal situation by any stretch of the imagination, I’m happy to be back home and teaching in a classroom again.
